The Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer has introduced the latest TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph series. This new watch symbolizes time precision and the evolution of the iconic “Carrera” series design.
Meet the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph
The TAG Heuer Carrera series was first introduced in 1963. Jack Heuer, the founder, named his chronograph watch collection “Carrera” after a legendary race Carrera Panamericana in Mexico.
With 2023 marking the collection’s 60th anniversary, this year is special for Swiss luxury watchmaker by adding a new family member: a new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph.
The newest watch seamlessly blends classic allure with modern innovation, establishing a fresh milestone in the storied legacy of the Carrera collection. It pays homage to an earlier design, the 7753 SN reference for the late ’60s.
The New Watch Details
The Carrera Chronograph of 2024 takes the classic panda design from the 7753 SN and encases it in a contemporary Glassbox construction. Furthermore, the watch features a 39mm stainless-steel case crowned with a sapphire crystal that echoes the Heuer Carrera models of the 1970s.
Meanwhile, inside is a silver sunray-brushed dial with two black azuré subdials positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock, creating the classic bi-complex panda layout.
The central hand, plated in rhodium, is tipped with red lacquer, making it easy to see on the top of the dial. Additionally, red accents are found on the subdial hands and at each five-second mark along the indexes. These subtle contrasts significantly improve readability, an essential aspect of the Carrera’s design.
Of course, the newest TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph has the perfect “engine”: the in-house chronograph movement Heuer 02 (Ref. TH20-00). With bi-directional winding, this automatic movement boasts an impressive 80-hour power reserve. It includes a new shield-shaped oscillating weight, seen through the transparent caseback.
A steel bracelet serves as the final touch for the watch, marking the first time this feature has been included in the collection.
